Jose Trujillo

January 8, 1946 — April 6, 2023

Jose (Gina) Luis Armando Trujillo was born in Espanola on January 8, 1946 to Luis Trujillo & Eufemia Gallegos. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen D. Trujillo, & together they had three daughters. His daughters are Geralyn Trujillo (companion, Ronald), Carolyn Trujillo, and Anna Marie "Gina" Martinez (spouse, Santiago). His four granddaughters, Ashley Trujillo, April Martinez (spouse, Joseph), Stephanie Trujillo, & Joslyn Martinez. His two grandsons, Joseph Coriz (father, Elias Coriz) & Santos Martinez. His two great grandsons, Angel Rivera & Adrian Martinez. His only great granddaughter, Madison Martinez. He is survived by three of his sisters, Josephine Martinez, Mary Montoya (spouse, Henry), & Louisa Montoya (spouse, Vicente). He is also survived by brother-in-law Dennis Duran (spouse, Karen), sister-in-law Marjorie Maestas, sister-in-law Clara Martinez, sister-in-law Laura Santiago (spouse, James), sister-in-law Susan "Ellen" Duran (spouse, Robert Hedrick), sister-in-law Linda Martinez, brother-in-law Mike Duran (spouse, Louisa), brother-in-law Timmy Duran, brother-in-law Robert Duran, and brother-in-law Daniel Duran (spouse, Monica). 

Jose is preceded in death by his son-in-law Elirray Trujillo who he loved like a son. His mother Eufemia Gallegos, his father Luis Trujillo, his mother-in-law Mable V. Duran, his father-in-law Juan T. Duran, his brother Jerry Salazar, his brother Carlos Trujillo, his sister Rosa Benavides, brother-in-law Orlando Martinez, brother-in-law Arthur Duran, brother-in-law John Duran, brother-in-law Freddy Duran, sister-in-law Beverly Martinez, nephew Jimmy Martinez, nephew Orlando Romero, and close family friend Elijio Padilla Jr. 

Jose worked as a painter & provided services to many local businesses throughout Espanola known at the time as Sunwest Bank & Valley National Bank. He painted for many other businesses & individuals throughout Northern New Mexico. He also was a painter at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a contractor. Jose did auto paint & body on several vehicles in Espanola as well. He owned & operated JT's Second Hand Store in Ranchitos for many years & enjoyed being self-employed. Jose was a very hard worker throughout all his years!

Jose loved his family with his whole heart. Family was everything to him! He adored his wife of 59 years & thanked God everyday for his beautiful family. Jose enjoyed having conversations with many people that he met throughout the years & enjoyed socializing to the fullest. Every spring he looked forward for the flowers to bloom. During the s ummers he enjoyed going fishing to Tres Ritos & Hopewell. In the winter he enjoyed going hunting with his wife & the rest of his family, his late son-in-law Elirray Trujillo, & his late brother-in-law Orlando Martinez. On the weekends he enjoyed going to the nearby casinos with his family. 

Jose will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He was a kind, loving, caring man who loved to make people laugh! The family would like to thank Jade Banuelos, Destiny Garcia, Stephanie Martinez, & Arlene Francis Trujillo for the genuine care they gave for Jose. We would also like to thank Dr. Bard Rogers & Madhavi Garimella from MANNM. Also, very thankful to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care Sante Fe Home Dialysis, especially Christina Mendez & Dr. Alexandra (Sanda) Voinescu. 

Instead of sending flowers, the family would like to request a donation be made to the Espanola Humane Society to honor the life of Jose “Gina” Trujillo.

Private services will be held per the request of Mr. Trujillo and family.
