Josephine “Josie” Lopez

With open arms Josie Lopez was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20, 2025. She was born in Pintada, NM to Luciano & Victoria Sena on December 22, 1940.

Services will be June 27, 2025, at St. Annes Parish. Rosary at 10:00 am. Funeral Mass at 11:00am, and burial at 1:00 pm at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.

Josie Retired from the School for the Deaf where she worked for 30 years where she learned to sign to the deaf. She started in laundry then moved up to Dorm Mother for the boys. She also did transport for the deaf. Josie was also an Avon Reporesentative for about 30 years where she met and made many good lifelong friends. Her passion was gardening and working in her yard. She also liked doing jigsaw puzzles, coloring books, and crafting.

She is survived by her companion of 53 years George Vigil. One daughter Roberta Tapia of Clovis, NM. One son Leonard Lopez of Santa Fe, NM. Two Brothers- Ermie Sena of Espanola, NM, Ronald Sena (Linda) of La Cienega, NM. Three sisters- Sandra Flaugher of Rio Rancho, NM, Julia Solano of Reano, NV, Cherryl Sena of Santa Fe, NM. 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nephews and Nieces.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Luciano & Victoria Sena, four sons Adam Lopez (Infant), Michael Lopez, Gerald Lopez, and Chris Vigil. One daughter Kathy Lopez. Two brothers Louie & Darryl Sena.
