Joseph M Webb died peacefully while in hospice care on September 3rd, 2025 after a long illness. He was 74 years old.
He lived in the El Rito community North of Questa. Known as Two Birds Soaring, he lived alone his last few years, preceded in death by his beloved partner of over twenty years.
After years of adding his devotional presence to weekly Tibetan Buddhist practices, in his last few months of life, his heart, mind and speech radiated a deep love, gratitude and delightful sense of humor to those who visited him. He asked for and received special prayers from and vows with visiting Lamas.
Music was truly Two Bird’s passion. He played the saxophone in jazz groups in Kansas City and in many cities throughout the country. The great jazz saxophone player, Charlie Parker, was his inspiration. As well as jazz, Two Birds also deeply appreciated classical music. He was also an electrical technician in the music industry.
There are no known family members.
A small memorial gathering at the Kagyu Mila Guru Stupa in El Rito will be announced to honor him and spread his ashes.
