Jose Alberto Garcia (Albert) 95, lifelong resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on September 8th, 2024 surrounded by his family. Albert was the son of deceased father Alfonso and mother Anita (Moya) Garcia. Albert graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1948 and was drafted into the Army during the Korean War.
Albert was a soldier in the Army beginning in 1951, and served until honorably discharged in 1952. Albert married Margarita (Martinez) Garcia on May 8, 1951 in Santa Fe, NM. Together, Alberto and Margarita had 5 children: Marlene Sandoval (son-in-law Anthony), Maria Berlinda Garcia, Diana Anaya (son-in-law Henry), Albert and Julie (daughter-in-law Carrolette Winstead).
Albert worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 35 years and retired in 1988. Albert was an icon at Sears and most knew him as the salesman in the hardware department with the crew cut.
Albert especially loved to work on cars and did a bit of woodworking. Favorite memories of Albert are his ability to create a nickname for everyone and his work ethic. He was a wonderful provider for his family and served as a great role model for his siblings, his children and grandchildren.
Remaining to cherish spouse: Margarita Garcia; siblings: Orlando Garcia, Isaias Garcia Lorraine (Garcia) Duran. Also cherished by his 11 remaining grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Preceding Albert in death are siblings: Eloy Garcia, Julia (Garcia) Rodriguez, Guadalupe (Lupe) Garcia, Isabella (Garcia) Martinez and grandson David Griego.
