Jose Benancio "Bennie" Valdez

JOSE BENANCIO “BENNIE” VALDEZ, 90, of Santa Fe, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born May 3, 1925 in Nambe, NM, the son of Luis and Eulogia Trujillo Valdez. He and his loving wife Stella Marie Baca were married 66 years ago. He served with the United States Army then returned to New Mexico. He enjoyed his family and hunting, fishing, outdoor adventures and woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife Stella Valdez, one son Timothy Valdez, four daughters; Isabel Valdez, Kathleen Kurby, Dolores Rael, and Pauline Rivera, and his grandchildren; Bryanna Rivera, Timothy Valdez, Jr, Sonja Valdez, Jonathan Valdez, Victor Rael, and Nathan Rael and great-grandchild Milo Schooley. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
