Jose A. Valdez

Jose A. Valdez, 85,of Valdez passed away on April 20, 2016. He was born in Valdez, New Mexico, but resided in Albuquerque. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. Upon his return he joined the Air National Guard in Casper, Wyoming. In total he served his country for five years. Jose spent his life centered around his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Valdez and Adelina Valdez, wife, Gertrude Valdez and previous wife, Teresina Fresquez, siblings, Tony (Eva), Benny (Tina), and Adelmo (Virginia), sons, Steve Valdez and Carlos Valdez, father-in-law, Alberto Montano, mother-in-law, Isabelita Martinez, daughter-in-law, Elaine Valdez, and aunt, Rafelita Padilla Salgado. He is survived by his children, Lorraine Valdez and Alonzo Valdez, grandchildren, Anthony Gonzalez (Tina), Andrea Candelaria (Ricky), Danielle Valdez, Jesse Valdez (Tavita), Carlos Valdez (Amanda), Cory Valdez (Stephanie), Christine Cisneros (Roman) and Stephanie Flores (Sergio). Jose had eighteen great-grandchildren Dahlia & Aurelius Gonzales, Carlos JR, Nicholas, Adelina, Lilyana, Alexandra, Rena, Maria, Joseph, Mila, Elaina, Herman, Sergio, Victor, Uriel, and Ximena. Rosary was recited on April 27, 2016. Funeral mass was held on April 28, 2016. Both services were held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment followed at the Valdez Cemetery.
