Jonathan Blake Concha, 60, of Taos and Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jonathan was born on February 24, 1966, to Dennis and Winnie Mae Concha in Taos, New Mexico, where he was raised. He attended Taos Municipal Schools and graduated from Taos High School in 1984. Following graduation, Jonathan attended trade schools in Texas and Florida, where he developed the skills and craftsmanship that became such an important part of his life. He eventually returned to New Mexico and made his home in Albuquerque.

Jonathan proudly carried his heritage from Taos Pueblo and the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, fiancé, nephew, cousin, and friend whose love for family was evident in every part of his life.

Jonathan worked in law enforcement for part of his career and was also an exceptionally talented mechanic and welder. He took pride in working with his hands and creating things with skill and precision. He designed and crafted grills and tortilla presses and could fix just about anything placed before him.

Jonathan loved fishing and found peace being outdoors, enjoying nature and the quiet moments life offered. He also loved cooking, and family and friends will forever remember the delicious chili and posole he prepared with love. Jonathan had a gift for making people laugh. His sense of humor, storytelling, and famous phrase, “Oh man!” brought joy to everyone around him.

Jonathan will also be remembered for the many stories and adventures shared with family during childhood. Alongside his sisters and cousins, he created lifelong memories full of laughter, humor, and mischief that remain treasured by all who knew him.

Most importantly, Jonathan was a Christian whose faith remained important throughout his life. After being diagnosed with leukemia in October 2024 and later receiving a stem cell transplant, Jonathan fought bravely for nearly two years. Through every challenge, he remained hopeful, strong, and determined, always surrounded by the unwavering love, prayers, and support of his family. In the final moments before his homegoing, he was surrounded by loved ones who comforted him and remained faithfully by his side.

Jonathan is survived by his children, Melissa Concha, Sarah Concha, and Henry Concha; his grandchildren, Blake and Joyner; his sisters, Denise Montoya and Karla Concha; brothers-in-law Richard Montoya and Ira Lucero; his devoted fiancé, Eleanor “Ally” Archibeque; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tyler, and his brother, Francis Dean Concha.

Jonathan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, faith, perseverance, and devotion to family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Remembrance Service will be held at Rivera's Funeral Home in Taos, NM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at First Indian Baptist Church in Taos, New Mexico, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Sierra Vista Cemetery.
