John David Jolley II, known to those who loved him simply as David, died on June 9, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, just a few weeks after being diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. His passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and it is a deep sorrow to his family that he was not able to be surrounded by loved ones in his final moments. He was 69 years old.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, on September 9, 1955, David was the beloved son of Ordria Jolley and the late John David Jolley Sr. He was a proud resident of Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he built a life grounded in faith, service, and deep commitment to his family and community.
David is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Jolley; his daughter, Erin; his grandchildren, Ollie, and Olive; his niece, Rachel, whom he loved dearly and her children Olivia and Sophia; and his brother, Edward Jolley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A man of deep Catholic faith, David was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served faithfully in many leadership roles, including Past District Deputy for New Mexico District 12, Grand Knight of Sacred Heart Council 3137, and Faithful Navigator of Assembly 688. He was also a respected leader in his professional life, holding an MBA and multiple certifications including PMP and PMI-OB, and previously serving as President and Vice President of Education in the Project Management Institute. In recent months, David proudly passed his Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam and was excited about the new chapter he had begun at Smith’s Pharmacy in Los Alamos. He looked forward with great optimism to continuing his work and growing in this new role.
David was a man of integrity, intellect, and quiet strength. He was deeply committed to service—both in his professional life and within his church and community. Those who knew him will remember his generosity, wisdom, humility, sharp wit, and unwavering love for his family.
A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 7:00 PM, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Both services will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico. A reception will follow the Mass in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations are humbly requested to support the family with funeral expenses, hospital bills, and care during this time of transition. Contributions of any amount may be made at: https://gofund.me/fec550fe
Though his time with us was far too short, David’s life was a testament to love, faith, and honor. He will be missed more than words can express, and remembered always.
