John Anthony Garcia, lovingly known as “Tony” and “Ton Locs,” passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 56.

John was born on October 7, 1969, in Santa Fe, NM to Sara Garcia. After completing middle school, he went on to earn his GED.

After obtaining his GED, John discovered his passion for construction work. He became a highly skilled master framer and took pride in helping build hotels and homes, including homes for well-known individuals. He continued working in construction until he was no longer physically able.

In 1993, John met Tanya Trujillo in Las Vegas. Together they had two children, JaMarcus and Reyna.

John enjoyed helping others, riding his bike, spending time with family, watching TV and movies, and attending church. He was known for his caring heart, strong work ethic, and love for his family and friends.

John was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his brother Marcos Rey Garcia and was survived by his mother, Sara Garcia; his sister, Lena Medrano; and brother-in-law, Phillip “Nenz” Lovato.

John is survived by his daughter, Reyna Garcia; his son, JaMarcus Trujillo and wife Brittney Trujillo; his brother, Joseph Garcia; his nieces, Sarah Garcia and Raelynn Calabaza; his nephew José Calabaza; his grandchildren EzmerRey, Hendrix, Zaishah Trujillo, Zhuri Trujillo and Zhia Trujillo; his cousin Paul Lovato and daughter Paula Lovato; son Steven Romero; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever. We will keep you living on in our memories and the love for you will never die. To the realest man we knew.

Rosary services will be held on May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church. A reception with food will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Apartments Clubhouses.
