Jimmy "Indio" Wayne Teel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy “Indio” Wayne Teel, who entered into eternal rest due to injuries from an atv accident. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and cherished friend. Born on June 30, 1977, in Ohkay Owingeh, New Mexico, Jimmy departed this life on May 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy was a man of remarkable generosity and exceptional skills. A talented craftsman, he excelled in carpentry, home repairs, and vehicle maintenance, among many other talents. He was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His love for the outdoors, especially fishing, brought him peace and joy.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lori Teel, and 11 cherished children: Julianne, Roswitha, Jimmy Jr., Josh, Sasha, Ciara, Dasha, Raul, CJ, Armando, and Kaden. Besides his children, Jimmy played a guiding role in raising his nephews Jeremy Lujan, Francisco Trujillo, Christopher “Boo” Trujillo, and Matthew Chalan, instilling in them the kindness, skills, and values he lived by. 

Mourning his loss also are his siblings, including his sister Elizabeth and her husband Armando Armijo, as well as his sister-in-law Juleen Martinez and his niece Ericka Garcia.

A proud grandfather, he leaves behind two adoring grandchildren, Jaynee and Nevaeh. Jimmy’s generous spirit extended to many nieces and nephews, including Aaron Scheurmann and Amanda Scheurmann-Cruz, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him in death were his mother Mamie, father John, brother Raul, and sister Lori Lujan, now reunited with him in peace.

Indio will be missed more than words can express, yet his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. 

Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Jr., Jeremy, Francisco, Christopher, Aaron, Kyle Tsoodle, and Mark Trujillo.

His services have already been held, but there are mass intentions scheduled on July 22, 2025, at the San Juan Church in Ohkay Owingeh, NM at 6:00 pm.
