Jennifer Yvonne Henderson August 16, 1972 – August 31, 2026
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Jennifer Yvonne Henderson, 54, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, on August 31, 2026.
Jennifer was born on August 16, 1972, in Española, New Mexico. She grew up in the beautiful community of Vallecitos before eventually making Santa Fe her home. Jennifer had a vibrant spirit and a warmth that drew people to her. She was outgoing, full of life, and known for her contagious laugh and beautiful smile that could light up any room. She loved deeply, danced freely, and cherished the people and moments that mattered most.
Jennifer was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was spending time with the people she loved. She is survived by her children, Jennica Maestas (Angelo) and Jacob Maestas (TJ), and her beloved grandchildren, Jalyssa, Jayden, and Enrique, who held such a special place in her heart and life.
She is also survived by her mother, Dolores Lopez; her siblings, Raymond Archuleta (Cindy), Fran Cordova (Castillo), Estrella Lopez (Bernie), and Robert Lopez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Raylene, Jimmy, Kristyana (Lorenzo), Bernie, Cruzita (Jaden), Diego, Viridiana, Analiyah, Vianica, Vitalia, Arianna, Santos, Annaleesa, Kylor, Étoile, and her loving dog Azalea.
Jennifer was preceded in death by Jose Archuleta, Deluvena Archuleta, George Henderson, and Bobby Lopez.
She leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, coworkers, and loved ones who were fortunate to know her. The memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will remain in their hearts always.
Jennifer dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as the Northeast Region Supervisor for WIC. She was passionate about her work and took great pride in helping new mothers and children. Her dedication to serving others reflected the compassion and generosity she carried into every part of her life.
A devoted Catholic, Jennifer carried her faith with her throughout her life. Her faith, family, and friendships were deeply important to her and remained at the center of who she was.
Jennifer knew how to enjoy life. She loved spending time with family and friends, hiking, dancing, and especially visiting Ojo Caliente, where she would lovingly say she was going to “soak her bones.” She was adventurous, fun-loving, and always ready to make memories with the people she loved.
Though her time with us was far too short, Jennifer’s life was filled with love, family, service, laughter, and adventure. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for her Rosary on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 6:00pm at Rivera Funerals & Cremations, 417 Rodeo Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87505. May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God. Until we meet again.
