Janet passed away March 17, 2016 in her son Justin’s home in Taos, NM. She had been fighting Frontal Temporal Dementia and cancer for years. She was born in 1948 in Streator, Illinois to Edwin Wait D.D.S. and Arlene Wait. She graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor in science degree in home economics journalism and a minor in textiles and clothing. She was active life long in the Chi Omega Sorority. She moved to San Francisco where she was a sales rep for Overseas Trading Corporation and then a college professor. While in San Francisco, she was set up on a blind date with her future husband Jack Nylund. They later married June 11, 1977 in Rogers, Arkansas. They moved to Dallas, Texas where they spent the rest of their married life. They had two sons Dr. Justin Nylund a dentist in Taos, NM and Jon Charles Nylund who is in real estate in Dallas, TX. She was a very devoted wife and mother, was involved in all her sons activities growing up and was the driving force behind their success today. She was well known for philanthropy by organizing and planning charity fundraisers for the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Dallas Symphony Association, the Family Place, Dallas Theater Guild, Kidney Texas, Dallas Opera, Dallas Heritage Village, Chi Omega Christmas Market. She was known for being a loving, compassionate person who gave of herself to make the world a better place. Even as her diseases ravaged her body she still had a smile and chose to make every day the best day it could be. She was very well loved and will be missed by all that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Ed Wait and Arlene Wait. She is also preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jack Louis Nylund. She is survived by her brother Dr. Charles Wait of Scottsdale, AZ and sister, Julie Fryauf of Rogers, AR. She is survived by her two sons Dr. Justin Nylund of Taos, NM, Jon Nylund Dallas, TX and Daughter in law Patricia Nylund of Taos, NM.
A memorial service for her was held on March 25, 2016 at Faith Mountain Fellowship 100 Copper King Trail Red River, NM (575)754-6653.
