With great sadness, the family of Jane Quintana, 63, of Alcalde, NM, announces her unexpected passing on July 12, 2025. This loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of her loved ones. Jane was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, Tia, daughter-in-law, and friend.
Jane was born to Kate and Juan Lovato on May 15, 1962, in Santa Fe, NM. She was raised with great love and care alongside her older brother, Tomas “Tony”, and younger brother, Robert “Bobby” Lovato. She carried a deep sense of love and care with her the rest of her life, never failing to let her family know just how much she loved them as often as she could.
Jane was most proud of her titles “Mom”, “Grandma”, and “Titi”. Her nurturing nature was always evident in the way she cared for her children and grandchildren. Even to those who were not biologically family, she considered everyone her “mijo” or “mija”. She had a deep love for her friends and neighbors and built lifelong friendships with many of them.
Jane successfully managed the family trucking business for 27 years while raising her family. She worked tirelessly to ensure her loved ones were well cared for and had all they needed. Jane also cared for and raised several neighborhood children as if they were her own. Everyone knew that when they entered Jane’s house, they would be greeted with smiles, hugs, and a delicious homemade meal. She shared her gift of cooking with her daughters and her special son-in-law, Isaac.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Kate Lovato; her father, Juan Lovato; her brother, Robert “Bobby” Lovato; her special friend and sister-in-law, Pauline Lovato; and her special niece, Jeannette Lovato.
Jane is survived by her four children – Krystal Garcia (Isaac), Savannah Atencio (Henry), Amber Marquez (Marcos), and her only son, Cruz Quintana (Savannah); eight grandchildren, whom she greatly cherished - Karyssa & Jakob Garcia, Noah Atencio, Jonah & Rosalie Marquez, and Luke, Lainey, & Levi Quintana; brother Tomas (Tony) Lovato, nieces Sonya Lovato, Gloria Lovato, and several other beloved nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers and carrying her to her final resting place will be her beloved grandsons Jakob Garcia, Noah Atencio, Jonah Marquez, and Luke Quintana, nephew Anthony Martinez, and niece Rayana Martinez.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are her beloved granddaughters Karyssa, Lainey, Rosalie, and her beloved grandson Levi.
