James G. Parkinson, a devoted father skilled machinist passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2025, at the age of 89 Born on March 24, 1936, in Sunderland, England, James lived a life marked by dedication to his craft and a passion for the outdoors.
James began his journey to the United States in January 1965, initially settling in New York state. In 1972, he moved to Colorado, and in 1980, he found his home in New Mexico. Throughout his career, he showcased his exceptional abilities in various esteemed organizations, including Kodak, Coors, and Ford Motor Company, ultimately concluding his professional life at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was known for his love of sailing, golf, and tennis. These activities not only provided him with joy but also allowed him to connect with nature and friends, enriching his life experiences.
He is survived by his loving daughter Kay Parkinson and his son Ian Parkinson, who is married to Amanda. James’s legacy will be cherished by those he leaves behind.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Prissila Parkinson; his father, James Gordon Parkinson; his sisters, Mary Hill and Irene Kilmartin; as well as his beloved dogs, Toby and Lester.
