Listen to Obituary

With profound sadness yet deep gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Jaime Peña Chacon, who departed this world on June 10, 2026, in his beloved Santa Fe, the same place where his inspiring journey began on August 11, 1994.

Jaime was a shining presence—a devoted son, a cherished brother, an adored father, and a steadfast friend to many. Those who knew him felt the warmth and joy he brought to every moment; his kindness, infectious laughter, and generous spirit left an indelible imprint on countless lives.

Jaime’s roots ran deep in Santa Fe, nourished by a close-knit and loving family who survive him and carry his legacy forward with unwavering love. He remains in the hearts of his daughters, Emery and Evie, whose lives were brightened daily by his gentle guidance and abundant affection. Eden Martinez, the love of his life and mother of Jaime's children, shared with him bonds of partnership and perseverance, through life’s many turns. His mother, Isabel Chacon, and father, Jaime Peña, mourn their beloved son while remembering the pride and happiness he brought into their lives. His siblings—Ricardo Peña and Gregorio Trujillo, and sisters Dimarely Peña, Heaven Berela, and Gianne Barela—recount precious memories of joy, laughter, and steadfast camaraderie growing up together. His nieces, Allyana Peña, Juliana Peña, Karla Coroy, and Rochelle Coroy, remember their uncle’s playful spirit and nurturing heart. He lived by the phrase "here for a good time, not a long time"

Jaime’s circle of love extended even further. His grandmother, Juventina Peña Gonzales, and many cousins and uncles remain to cherish his memory, as do others, including Lola his adored furbaby. Though some treasured relatives have journeyed before him—his grandfather Trinidad Peña and Gregorio Chacon, Grandma Candelaria Chacon Beltran, and three uncles on both his father’s and mother’s sides each—their stories live on in the retelling, embraced by the family that Jaime so dearly loved.

Jaime’s life was woven with milestones and everyday joys. From childhood moments in Santa Fe and Mexico, to growing into the steadfast partner and father he became, each chapter was defined by his loyalty to family, his generosity to friends, and his openness to life’s wonders and challenges. Jaime was known for being a foodie, cooking red enchiladas and enjoying chili cheese curly fries from Sunrise, especially spicy food. At times he would drown Barranca road saying "lets go for a cruise" and would arm wrestle on any occasion. He would  Jaime was the pillar around which many gatherings revolved, and the friend who listened, guided, and stood by those in need. Though words cannot fill the void left in his absence, his legacy is written in the smiles he inspired and the bonds he forged—threads of love connecting all who knew him.
