Jack Ellvinger passed away on September 6, 2024. He was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on October 29, 1947.  Jack worked for the State of New Mexico as a Bureau Chief and Los Alamos National Labs where he retired in 2010.  He was a Den Leader for Troop 53 for many years with the Boy Scouts of America. Jack loved music, going to see the Nascar races, traveling and spending time with his family.  His smile and laughter would light up the room.  Jack was a graduate of The College of Santa Fe with a Bachelor of Science and a Graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Master Degree in Public Administration.

 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and John Ellvinger and his son Chris Ellvinger and sister in-law Josephine Hunt and Husband Greg Hunt.  Jack is survived by his wife Betsy Ellvinger, brother Mark and Louise Ellvinger, his children Jessica Ellvinger, Jacqueline Ellvinger-Silva and husband Brandon Silva, Marc Ellvinger and wife Nicole Ellvinger.  Jack had 11 grandchildren, Sam Ellvinger, Adelina Ellvinger-Silva, Katy Ellvinger, Claudia Ellvinger, Zoe Ellvinger, Bradon Ellvinger-Silva, Ivy Ellvinger, Scarlett Ellvinger, Jacob Ellvinger, Annabelle Ellvinger & Eli Ellvinger.  He is also survived by his Godson Jody Quintana & Goddaughter Joanna Rotunno and many family and friends.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to: Rotech, Nexus Cancer Center and Presbyterian Hospital, and to all the med techs, nurses and doctors on the 2nd floor.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Rivera’s Funeral Chapel 417 East Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505 on September 19, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Betsy, Jessica, Jacqueline, Brandon, Marc, Nicole, Jody, Jacob and Joanna.
