Ida Felecia Cisneros, a cherished educator and beloved matriarch, graced this world with her presence on October 14, 1926, in the quaint village of Amalia, New Mexico. She embarked on her final journey on December 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy imbued with love, laughter, and profound dedication to her family and community.

Ida's professional life was illuminated by her role as a second-grade teacher at the Questa Independent Schools, where her passion for nurturing young minds flourished. Her gentle humor and nurturing nature made her a favorite among students and faculty alike, as she created an environment that fostered learning and joy. Her educational journey culminated at Adams State, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education, yet it was her practical wisdom and compassionate approach that truly defined her as an educator.

In 1961, Ida met the love of her life, Jose E. Cisneros, and together they embarked on a beautiful journey of partnership and devotion. Their shared years were filled with countless moments of joy, warmth, and mutual respect, creating a home that radiated love.

Ida took pride in her roots as one of nine children, being the third to the last born, a testament to her family-oriented spirit. In her later years, she embraced the roles of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with grace and enthusiasm. She is survived by her son, James and wife, Sandra, along with five adoring grandchildren, Mariah Cisineros, Jassmann Cisneros, Kimberly Trujillo, Michael Trujillo, Mateo Vigil, Alexia Cisneros, and James Ryan Cisneros, three precious great-grandchildren, Klea Trujillo, Adrian Trujillo, and Kaylee Trujillo, and brother Elias Salazar (Avelinda) each of whom carries a piece of her generous heart and vibrant spirit.

Her spirit extended beyond the confines of her professional life; Ida was a woman of many interests and profound faith. She found solace and joy in gardening, her hands nurturing flowers that flourished under her attentive care. The simple pleasure of picking and savoring pinon was a delightful ritual for her, while dancing and crocheting provided others with glimpses of her joyful heart and artistic talents. Deeply rooted in faith, Ida’s Catholic beliefs guided her choices and instilled within her a sense of purpose and community.

Ida’s journey was not without poignant memories, including the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Jose, and her cherished grandson, Joseph Isiah Cisneros. Additionally, she carries with her the memory of her parents, Emetelio Salazar and Ramoncita Vallejo, siblings, Jesusita Martinez (Delfino), Cipriano Salazar (Rufinita), Emiilia Ortiz (Jose), Antonia Rivera (Lilio), Ermilinda Garcia (Mike), Clara Arellano, Cecilia Arellano (John), whose influence undoubtedly shaped her character and values.

As we reflect on the life of Ida Felecia Cisneros, we are reminded of a life well-lived, enriched by meaningful connections and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her loving spirit will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on a community that she helped to foster and nurture through both her professional endeavors and personal bonds.
