Grace Angela Roybal lost her year and a half long battle with cancer on August 9, 2026 surrounded by her family. Grace was born on March 14, 1983, and throughout her 43 years of life she brought an incredible amount of love, happiness, and sunshine to everyone fortunate enough to known her.
Grace lived with developmental disabilities but it never defined the beautiful person she was. She had a wonderful ability to make people smile and was truly a ray of light to everyone she met. Her warmth, personality, laughter, and loving spirit touched the lives of so many.
Grace valued her relationships and had many meaningful connections with family, friends, boyfriends, and members of her community. One of her greatest joys was being an auntie to Jeremy, Mikayla, Bubba, Donovan, and a great auntie to Rauri. She also participated in Special Olympics, where she enjoyed staying active, competing, and sharing meaningful experiences. A special thank you to all those athletes and volunteers of the Special Olympic community and a extra hats off to the Santa Fe Special Olympics and Rio Rancho Rockets. Your passionate, tireless efforts do not go unnoticed.
She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, kind heart, and the light she brought into every facet of her life. Those that knew her are better for having had her in their lives. Her love, laughter, and grace will live on in the hearts of all those that knew her.
Grace is survived by her sister Jessica Cuff, Kenny W Cuff (brother-in-law), Jeremy Soto, Kenneth P Cuff, Donovan Cuff (nephews), Mikayla Soto (niece), Rauri Soto (great nephew), her father Anthony Roybal and sister Kaylee Roybal. Priscilla Hayes (aunt). Desiree and Martin Chavez (Chris, Mariah, Gabriel), David and Lisa Smith (Logan), Darrell and Elizabeth Smith (and children), Toney Martinez (Tonio , Crisseta), Chris and Sandy Martinez (Robert, Jacob), Andrea and Joe Maestas (and children), Vincent and Roybal (and children), Marlene Acosta (son), along with many other family members, friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
Grace is proceeded in death by her mother Patricia Ann Martinez (1964-2020), her sister Erica Ann Roybal (1975-2019), Brenda Hayes, Corrina Smith, Roberta Hayes, Seferina Maria Martinez, Isabel Roybal, Juan Roybal, and many more family and friends we still cherish who we still hold dear in our hearts and memories.
Though we mourn the loss of Grace we celebrate the beautiful life God gave to her and the love and joy she brought into this world. She fought with such integrity and a kind and open heart touching the lives of her fellow cancer warriors. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timithoy 4:7
