Genevive M. Martinez, 65, of Santa Fe, passed away Thursday, June 06, 2024.
Genevive is preceded in death by her parents Onesimo and Louisa Morales; Husband, Leroy Martinez; daughter, Stephanie Martinez; brothers, Poncho and Ronnie Morales; in-laws, Federico and Eliziada Martinez; brothers-in-law, Silviano Martinez, Ernesto Chavez, and Robert Casaus; sister-in-law, Joann Trujillo; niece, Valerie Martinez; great-nephew, Christopher Lovato; great-niece, Shanae Quintana, and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Genevive is survived by her son, Archie Martinez (companion Melody); daughter, Vanessa Rico (Husband Cesar); daughter, Suzane Martinez (companion Patrick); grandsons, Gerald Ortiz, Luis Rico, Brandon Armijo, Izaiah Martinez, and Isaac Lucero; granddaughters, Maria Rios, Rosa Rico, Angela Rico, Khloe Martinez, Shauian Lucero, and Star Valdez. Great-grandchildren, Alena Lucero, Adaline Ortiz, and Roberto Ortiz. Brothers, Freddy Trujillo, Diego Morales, Mark Morales (wife Emily); sister, Susie Trujillo (husband Jimmy), Barabara Trujillo, Marline Chavez, Rosita Martinez (husband Dennis), Becky Apodaca, Loreda Chacon (husband Eric); brother-in-law, Joe Martinez (wife Judy), sisters-in-law, Patsy Duran (husband Juan), Vicky Martinez, Lulu Duran (husband Jesus), and Vangie Martinez; God children, Timoteo Martinez, Pearl Chacon, and Jennifer Martinez.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Santo Nino de Atocha Church, 110 County Rd. La Jara, NM 87027. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22 at 9:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Church followed by interment at the Family Cemetery.
Genevive was passionate about many different trades where she was a waitress, cashier, bartender, and even worked construction. Although, the job she enjoyed the most was being a loving mother. She enjoyed learning and experiencing all sorts of different careers. Genevive often entertained conversations with many different people; She was always the most cheerful and outgoing people person.
