Taos

Frances Dominguez, beloved wife, mother, and cherished educator, peacefully departed this world on May 7, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 3, 1935, in the picturesque town of Taos, France=s embodied the spirit of her community through her dedication to teaching, faith, and family.

For over two decades, Frances devoted herself to shaping young minds at Arroyo Hondo, Arroyo Seco, and especially at Enos Garcia, where she became a beacon of knowledge and kindness. Her warmth and care endeared her to countless students and fellow teachers alike, leaving a lasting impression that resonated beyond her years in the classroom. She took immense pride in teaching her children to be bilingual, a testament to her commitment to their futures and cultural heritage.

Frances was not only an exceptional teacher but also a loving and devoted mother. Her nurturing spirit shone brightly in her roles as wife to Salomon Dominguez, and as a mother to her sons Mario, Michael, Pat, and Stephen, who, although no longer with us, holds a special place in her heart. She was a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, a testament to the legacy of love she has built through the generations.

Throughout her life, Frances exemplified the values of community and faith. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, attending mass every Sunday, her heart filled with reverence and gratitude. The color red was her favorite, symbolizing both her vibrant spirit and her love for red roses, which serve as a perfect reflection of her blooming personality—friendly, outgoing, and ever-caring.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Jeanette and Emma Garcia, her husband, Salomon, and her son, Stephen, who continues to be remembered and missed. She leaves behind her sons, Mario, Michael, and Pat, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

Her legacy will be honored with a Rosary service at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos on May 22, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM.
