Emilio Estevan Romero, 82, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Good Friday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Senaida Romero, brothers, Bobby, Jimmy, Ricardo, sister, Anita, and great-granddaughter, Kaylyn. Emilio was honorably discharged from the USMC, and served in the National Guard; he then worked for Zia Company in Los Alamos for many years; he was also a member of the Local Union No. 49. He was a prolific artist, creating sculptures from wood, clay and metal. Emilio is survived by his wife, Lorraine of 59 years, his loving family, Marshall, Chuck (Kathy), Patrick (Joliene), Teri (Eddie), Jeri (James), Jackie, Michelle (Edward), Dennis (Bob), Christine (Mandy), Amanda, Ashlee, Robert (Heather), Mario, Christopher, Brenden, CJ, Tres, Nevaeh, Rylee, Marie Cash, Rosalie Sacoman, and many more loving relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., at the Rosario Chapel, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis. A private burial to be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Emilio will be remembered by his amazing artwork, his love of his family, and treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his enduring strength. He touched our lives and will live in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Dr. Kastendieck and PMS Hospice for their compassion and exceptional care that Emilio received.
