Emery Eugene Maestas

Emery Maestas......Age 59, A resident of Ranchitos, passed away at his home on September 10, 2025. Emery had been extremely ill for a long time. He was in and out of the hospital for over a year. 

He was always kind and gentle to everyone he was in contact with. Emery, graduated from Espanola Valley High School in 1983. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. 

Emery is preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Carlota Maestas, siblings, Daniel, Pat, Henry, and Frank Maestas, Martha Vigil and Lorenza Sandoval, brothers in law, Elmer Velasquez, Frank Vigil, Raymond Sandoval, and his sister-in-law Erlinda Maestas. He is survived by his brothers, Dennis Maestas, of Arroyo Seco, and Joseph Maestas of Ranchitos, sisters Sally Avila of Denver Colorado, Mary Velasquez of Espanola, and Ida Vigil and husband Elfego of Clovis. 

In honor of Emery, A mass will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 10:30am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Services are attended to by the caring professionals of Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. We offer our most sincere condolences to all.
