Elias "Skinny" S. Sisneros

Elias Santiago Sisneros, 78, known to those closest to him as “Skinny”, departed this world in peace surrounded by his loving family on May 12, 2025, in Alcalde, New Mexico, due to an unexpected illness.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Santiago and Emma Sisneros, his brother Bobby Sisneros and brother-in-law John Allen, all of Alcalde, New Mexico, son in law Luis Lara of Gilbert Arizona, maternal grandparents, Lucas and Adela Trujillo of Alcalde, New Mexico and paternal grandparents, Cosmos and Rosana Sisneros, from El Guigue, New Mexico.

He is survived by his daughter Cecilia Lara, grandchildren, Mia and Gavyn Lara of Gilbert, Arizona, his son James Sisneros, wife Francine Sisneros, grandchildren, Isaiah Sisneros, Santiago Sisneros and partner Heaven Dupree and Eliza Sisneros and the mother of his children Lorraine Sisneros of Espanola. He is also survived by his sister Florence Gallegos, of Alcalde, New Mexico and sister Anita Mares, husband Robert Mares, niece Betty and husband Richard O’Leary, nephew Robert Mares Jr., wife, Carmen and son Robert Anthony Mares of Tucson, Arizona. He is survived also by many other wonderful relatives and close friends.

Elias Sisneros was part of the Los Pachecos Morada and enjoyed being with the Hermanos. He retired from Santa Maria El Mirador and enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved to listen to KDCE and enjoyed dancing. He loved animals and always had them at his house. His favorite movie was Bonanza. He was known by many in the community and was always willing to help others. He loved his grandchildren and family and was always with them.

The family would like to thank everyone for their support, care, and prayers.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren Isaiah, Santiago, Gavyn, Mia and Eliza, niece Betty O’Leary and nephew Robert Mares Jr., and Cousin Jose Archuleta.

In his honor, a rosary will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Saint Anne’s Church in Alcalde, New Mexico at 10:00am. A Funeral Mass will also take place at 11:00am with burial to follow at San Antonio Cemetery in Alcalde, New Mexico.
