At a young age, Eleanor enjoyed working for Los Arcos and La Cocina in Espanola. Eleanor had the art of serving. Her smile and joyous attitude won the hearts of many. For many years Eleanor worked for El Centro Family Health and Espanola Valley Nursing Rehabilitation as a nursing assistant. Eleanor had compassion and empathy to care for others. She brought comfort to patients which helped them to improve in health overall outcomes.
Eleanor had a grand love for her mother Elaine. Eleanor was a mamma’s girl. Life was not easy, but they had each other. To Eleanor, nothing scared her when mom was by her side. She could never repay mom for what she had done for her. With mom, Eleanor never stopped trying.
Growing up in Alcalde, Eleanor had a passion for riding horses with her dad Galento. She often participated in Los Comanches de Alcalde and danced with the Rainbow dancers. Eleanor had an infectious laughter that echoed through hearts spreading joy to all who encountered it. She would make the most mundane moments something to cherish filling each day with laughter and levity. She had the unique ability to find humor in her everyday experiences.
Eleanor and her sister Angelica shared their indifferences but couldn’t be without each other. The two functioned as safety nets that stood firmly behind each other. When life’s hills became too steep, they both climbed hand in hand.
Maria Markestyn was a huge part of Eleanors life. A true friend who cared like a mom. On good days and bad she knew Maria was there for her consistently.
Growing up, Eleanor had two special cousins Jessica Lujan & Elier Erives. The three were able to relate to each other personally and were each other’s source of support in times of need. Growing up together were the best adventures of their lives.
