On July 26, 2025 Egan lost his long battle with COPD.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he moved to Los Alamos at 3 months of age. He graduated from Los Alamos High School and went on to get his bachelors in Economics from the University of New Mexico. While working full time at LANL and raising his family he obtained his MBA from UNM-L A.
His pride and joy were his 4 children, Tyler (Lauren), Lacey, Chelsea, and Micaela (John) and his two grandsons Logan and Abel. He could never do enough for them, be it delivering Girl Scout cookies or Boy Scout popcorn. He was President of JR ROTC and the Golf Course Pool. He coached soccer and helped deliver papers when all 4 children had paper routes.
He is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Jacquie, his four children and grandchildren, brother, Zachary, nephew, Chris (Joy) and grand niece, Ellie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, as well as mother and father-in-law and both brothers-in-law. He always had a joke to tell (not all good) and time to say "I Love You", even with his last breath.
He is sorely missed and did everything he could to prolong his life. Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at MANNM and LAMC and he especially loved the employees at Pulminary Rehab.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
