Edwin L. Dean

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Edwin L. Dean, who departed this life on May 24, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 10, 1959, to Luis and Grace Dean, Edwin was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Amos and Martin Dean.

Edwin is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lavina Dean; his daughter, Alishia Marquez; his grandchildren, Patrick, Alanyka, and Serenity Marquez; his brothers, Leroy Archuleta and Lester Dean; and his sisters, Glenda, Angela, and Ruth Dean.

A proud veteran, Edwin served in the United States Army. Edwin was a faithful servant of the Lord, devoted to living out his Christian faith in every area of his life. His first and most cherished ministries were as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He believed that serving his family was one of the greatest callings God had given him.

Throughout his life, Edwin followed God’s call with a willing heart. He was active in jail ministries, men’s outreach programs, home visitations, and served passionately as an evangelist. No matter the setting, Edwin shared the hope of Christ with compassion, humility, and boldness.

Outside of ministry, Edwin found joy in God’s creation and the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, working out, and taking long rides on his Harley. He had a deep appreciation for meeting new people and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Edwin lived with purpose, driven by love for the Lord and a desire to serve others. His life was a testament to faith in action, and his legacy continues in the many lives he touched.

Viewing will be held on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Services will be at 11:00am at Rivera's Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E. Rodeo Rd. Santa Fe NM 87505. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetary at 1:30 p.m. 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM 87501.
