Dory Ryan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 12, 1960, Dory left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Following her graduation from New Mexico State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, she joined the Environmental, Safety and Health Division at LANL. After 30 years at LANL, Dory embarked on a life filled with gardening, hiking (completing Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim across the Grand Canyon for her 60th birthday), traveling, cooking, and Wordle. She loved early morning coffee by the fireplace with her husband, Bob, and dogs.
As a devout Catholic, Dory’s faith guided her through life’s challenges and joys. She found solace and strength in her faith and shared that love with her family and friends. Dory’s kindness, thoughtfulness, humor and generosity formed the foundation for many friendships.
Dory is survived by her beloved husband, Bob; her cherished children: Tyler, Chris, Sydney and son-in-law Mike; her treasured grandchildren, Natalee and Nicole; her loving parents, Deanna and George Brooks; her dear brother George and sister-in-law Joy Brooks. Dory also leaves behind her steadfast canine companion, Duke.
As we remember Dory Ryan, let us cherish the countless lives she touched and celebrate the accomplishments of a life well-lived- one marked by kindness, resilience, humor, love and an unwavering commitment to family and friends.
