Donald (Don) Harshman

d. May 14, 2015

Don D. Harshman, age 57, a resident of Los Alamos, NM passed away on May 14, 2015. He was born in December of 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to MaryAnn and Bruce Harshman. He is survived by his son Eric Harshman; his parents Bruce and MaryAnn Harshman; sister, Joni Stevens (Doug); brother, Steve Harshman all of New Mexico; sister, Lisa ODell (Ross) of Indiana. Also surviving him are nine nieces and nephews. Don was a loving father, a good brother and son. He loved to fish, camp, cook, golf, and garden. Most of all he loved to make people smile. Don loved children and suited up as the Easter Bunny for the children of Los Alamos at the Annual LA County Easter Egg Hunt for many years. He also loved to cook for others. He ran several restaurants and helped in many more throughout his lifetime. Don fed the greater part of the Los Alamos population during the years from the mid 1970s to present in one capacity or another. Dons one hiatus from the food service business was when he became top salesman at the Anthonys Store when it first opened. People often said they bought much more than they intended when Don helped them, but it was said with a smile and a wonder in their voice. Thank you to all the employers and friends who stood by him throughout the years. A special thanks to all those good friends and loving family members who gave Don aid and support during these last years when mobility became an issue. God Bless each and every one of you. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:30 am in Los Alamos, NM at the Christian Church. Donald's family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
