IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Duck"
Trujillo
April 4, 1962 – February 17, 2026
Donald Melvin Trujillo, affectionately known by his nickname "Duck," passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on April 4, 1962, in Fairview, New Mexico, Donald was a vibrant personality who brought joy and optimism to all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Donald was characterized by an infectious happiness and a bright outlook. No matter the challenges he faced, including a medical episode in the 90s that rendered him unable to speak or work, he maintained a smiling disposition and lived life to its fullest. His intelligence and positive demeanor left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
Donald had a wealth of interests that showcased his creative spirit. In his younger years, he developed a passion for working on cars and cruising them, particularly enjoying the aesthetics of lowriders. He proudly owned several, including a distinct root beer brown Cutlass, and always made sure to dress to impress. His love for automobiles was only rivaled by his fondness for music, movies, and the simple joy of cruising around town, often with his son.
As a father, Donald instilled important values in his children, teaching his son Kevin through his actions how to be a great father himself. He took particular pride in his daughter Barbara, whom he cherished as his little girl, regardless of her age. His legacy continues through his children and grandchildren, including Kylie, Kayden, Kamerynn, Ronan, Noah, Amelia, Kiana, and Cruz, who carry forward his values and spirit.
Donald is survived by his devoted son Kevin Trujillo (Nisha), his beloved daughter Barbara Martinez (Eric), and his siblings—Geneva Romero, Ruby Trujillo, and William Trujillo. He is also remembered by his special niece Nicole Martinez (Irin) and her children Demariz, Nevaeh, and Keanu, alongside many additional family members and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Trujillo and the mother of his children, Linda Garcia. He also leaves behind brothers Jose Trujillo, Porfirio Trujillo, Meliton Trujillo Jr., and Ricky Trujillo; sister Sylvia Cordova; brothers-in-law Olevio Trujillo and Eddie Romero; parents Petacio and Barbara Trujillo; grandparents Meliton and Isabel Trujillo; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Leonard Trujillo, Gary Trujillo, and Karen Trujillo.
Donald Melvin Trujillo’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
