It is with great sadness that the family of Desiree Victoria Baca announced her passing on September 28, 2024, at the age of 39.
Desiree grew up in a loving home in Velarde New Mexico. She attended Velarde Elementary, Garfield Middle school, and later Taos High School. Desiree graduated from Taos High School and continued her education at UNM-Taos where she studied web design.
Desiree became a mother to Arthur Hilario Trujillo, her only son and Celeste Trujillo, her baby girl. They were her entire world. Her children gave her strength during the rough times and laughter and joy all the time. She is described as a fish by her family. She loved to swim and was a natural at it. One of her greatest joys was teaching her children to swim. Her sister describes her as “420 friendly," a social butterfly. She loved life and loved to share it with people around her. She had a “bubbly” personality, and a laugh so loud that it became contagious to those around her. Oftentimes when you saw her, she wore a grin on her face. Desiree loved Tweety bird, and her rottweiler “Luna.” She was an outdoors person with a passion for hiking, walking, 4x4 Mountain driving, 4 wheeling, and boating.
Her departure comes as great shock and leaves a deep wound felt by her family and friends.
She is survived by her partner Arthur Thomas Trujillo, her son Arthur Trujillo, daughter Celeste Trujillo, her father Hilario Baca, her sister Hilary Baca, her grandmother Theresa Baca, her aunt Germaine Laughlin, Godmother Jovita Casillas, two nieces Holli and Lexiana Baca and nephew Ricardo Q, and numerous friends and family.
