Deleria Martha Vigil passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 4, 1942, in Cerro, New Mexico, Deleria lived a life rooted in faith, family, friendship, and hard work. She was admired for her unwavering determination, strong work ethic, and compassionate heart. Throughout her life, she exemplified dedication, integrity, and perseverance, inspiring those around her through both her words and her actions. She firmly believed that anything worth having was worth working hard for, a lesson she faithfully passed on to her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Deleria was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Eliu B. Vigil, her parents, Rumaldo and Margarita Vigil; her siblings, Florence Martinez (Robert), Fred Vigil (Adelina), Paul Vigil (Lucy), Bert Vigil, Arturo Vigil (Patsy), Frankie Vigil, and Teresa Vigil.

On November 27, 1965, Deleria married the love of her life, Eliu B. Vigil. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, commitment, and family, sharing many wonderful years of devotion and partnership.

Her family was the greatest joy of her life. Deleria was a devoted mother to her daughter, Lori Ann Romero (Eddie), and her son, Gary Vigil (Tina). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jeremy Romero (Samantha), Taylor Garcia (Carlos), Devin Vigil, Jennifer Brito (Austin), Alyssa Garcia (Orlando), Jonathon Vigil (Matilda), Zachary Vigil (Deandra), and Eli Vigil. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments, and watching them build their own families. She also cherished her role as great-grandmother to her seventeen beloved great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She is also survived by her beloved sister, Patsy Cordova (Alfonso), and her cherished nieces, Roberta Martinez and Melissa Trowbridge (Dave), whose love, support, and companionship meant so much throughout her life. She was also blessed with many nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved dearly.

A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Deleria proudly served as Mayordomo for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cerro for many years. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected daily through her kindness, generosity, and willingness to serve others. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and instilled in her family the values of faith, humility, respect, compassion, and hard work.

Deleria leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit, tireless work ethic, and the unconditional love she so freely shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Although her family deeply mourns her passing, they find comfort in the countless memories she created and the remarkable example she set through a life of faith, service, and love.

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
