DavidRay Elden Lopez, known affectionately as "Chuckyy," passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, in his birthplace of Espanola, New Mexico. Born on December 15, 1992, Chuckyy was a beloved member of his community and family, known for his impeccable sense of style, warm personality, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
DavidRay’s life was marked by his attention to detail and personal presentation. He took great pride in ensuring his shoes and hats were always clean; his clothing carefully color coordinated, ironed, and free of wrinkles or lint. This meticulous nature extended beyond his wardrobe to his everyday interactions, where he was always willing to lend a hand, especially to his beloved grandmother and siblings. Humble, loving, and young at heart, DavidRay retained a spirited enthusiasm for video games and Pokémon cards that reflected his joyful approach to life.
His strong bonds with his siblings were a cornerstone of his life. Javier Reynoso, his brother, fondly recalls shared road trips and concerts, noting that Chuckyy was not just a brother but also his best friend. Their siblings also treasure many childhood memories spent together, filled with laughter and camaraderie. His family described him as someone who never held grudges and was quick to engage in good-natured banter, always having to have the last word in any discussion.
DavidRay’s connection to his faith was uniquely personal; he maintained his own relationship with God and worshipped in his own way. He was widely known and deeply loved throughout Espanola. He had a special gift for making friends with ease, never shy to strike up conversations or deepen connections within his community.
A passionate sports fan, DavidRay was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers, frequently enjoying game days with his family. He also found great pleasure in visiting the casino, relaxing by the lake with his sister, niece, and nephew, and spending time watching WWE wrestling or listening to his favorite genres of music including rap, oldies and Spanish classics. He also would indulge in podcasts from time to time.
One of DavidRay’s proudest accomplishments was his role as an uncle, a position that brought him immense joy. He adored his niece Annaleah, and his nephews Aden, Santiago, Malacai, and Amarii, cherishing every moment spent with them.
DavidRay leaves behind a large circle of loving family members who will deeply feel his absence.
