David Vincent Quintana Sr.

Dave dedicated his life to service and community. He began his journey by serving four years in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he devoted 32 years to the US Forest Service, where he made significant contributions to forest fire prevention and management. His career also included many years working with the New Mexico Legislature, out of which he cultivated a strong understanding of government operations. Furthermore, Dave served the community as a school bus driver for Pecos Schools for a decade and Balloon Fiesta annually. Throughout the years, he continued to contribute through contracted work with the US Forest Service, leaving a lasting impact on those he encountered.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Quintana, who stood by him throughout their many years together. His legacy continues through his daughters, Debbie (Manny) Garcia and Denise Quintana, as well as his cherished granddaughters, Nicole and Isabella, and grandsons, Joshua and Erik. He also leaves behind sisters Marie (Mark) McAllaster and Delia Quintana, along with many nephews, nieces, family, and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his son, Davy Jr., and daughter, Darlene Quintana, parents, Esequiel and Agenda B. Quintana, sisters Connie Castillo and Rosaline Martinez, and brother Eugenio Martinez, who await him in heaven.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on September 11, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Rivera Family Funeral & Cremations of Santa Fe, located at 417 East Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87505. 

A rosary and funeral service will be held the following Saturday, September 13, 2025, starting at 10AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 11 St Anthony's Loop, Pecos, NM 87552, concluding with his final farewell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Erik, Nicole, and Isabella, with honorary pallbearers Joshua Rico, Julian Roybal, Rick Castillo, Gene Jr. Martinez, Ramon Orlando Vigil, Robert Baca, Sammy Whittington and Mark McAllaster.
