Mr. David Lee Harrison, born May 7, 1954, who passed away on July 30, 2026. He has been a member of the Los Alamos community for 38 years.
David dedicated much of his professional life to serving as a nuclear security officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory, retiring in 2019. His service extended beyond the workplace, as he was also a proud Army veteran, embodying steadfast commitment and quiet strength.
At home, he was a steadfast fan of the Denver Broncos and found deep joy in taking long walks and scenic Jemez mountain drives. These simple pleasures were a testament to his appreciation for life's everyday beauty and adventure.
David’s sense of dry humor, which remained ever-present even in his last days, endeared him to friends and family alike. He treasured making memories with his loved ones—leading the family on many trips to baseball games and camping under the stars. Road trips to Utah and Oregon to visit extended family, as well as vacations to favorite destinations like Disneyland, the Grand Canyon National Park, Hawaii, and Oceanside, California, stand among the cherished adventures David shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shawna, whose companionship was the cornerstone of his life. His sons, Ben and Aaron, were his pride and joy and he was proud to witness them both married in 2019. Those privileged to have known David will remember him for his humor, loyalty, and steadfast love for his family.
