Claire Ortiz~Hill

Claire Ortiz Hill, a native of Santa Fe, passed away in Paris, France on December 4th at the age of 74, showered with prayer and love from her family and sisters from her Catholic home there. Claire had been living in France for many years and had a remarkable life as a translator, scholar, lecturer and author of numerous books on analytic philosophy. She acquired degrees in philosophy at University of California Riverside and a doctoral in the subject at Université Paris Sorbonne. She was a devout Catholic and lived as a diocesan hermit in the archdiocese of Paris. Claire was the daughter of Milford Lee Hill of Alamogordo and Adelina Alcaria Ortiz of Santa Fe. She is survived by her siblings Gene Hill residing in Albuquerque, Martin Hill in Ponce, Puerto Rico and Felice Hubbard of La Quinta, CA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A burial service will be held for Claire at Rosario Cemetery on Monday, December 22nd at 2pm.
