Charlene Johnson

Charlene Johnson, 70, a resident of Cordova passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, following a lengthy illness. 

Charlene was a beloved nurse for 38 years at Presbyterian Espanola Hospital. She touched many lives throughout her career with her caring and compassionate care. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Charlene was preceded in death by her daughter Jillian Johnson, her father Jose Mondragon, 4 infant siblings, parental grandparents Salomon and Josefita Mondragon, maternal grandparents Jack Sherwood, Sostena Trujillo and Helen Nelson. 

Charlene is survived by her son Jerrad Johnson and wife Crystal, grandchildren Camryn Johnson and Katelynn and Luke Herrera, mother Alice Mondragon, God parents Eurgencio Lopez and Raymond and Delia Montoya, sister Susan Mondragon and many other loving relatives and friends. 

The family of Charlene Johnson would like to thank the people who helped care for her during her final months, Birtha Sapcutt, Katherine Martinez, Christine Keene, Carol and Dominique Romero, Angie and Rylene Martinez. Also, a very special thank you to the wonderful nurses and healthcare professionals at Espanola Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Hospice and Scott’s House in Santa Fe.
