On April 12 Chamchun Zisk died peacefully in Santa Fe. She was 77 years old. Her husband, Bob Zisk, was with her. Those who knew her called her by her nickname, Jan. Jan was an accomplished restauranteur and chef, skilled in Thai and fusion cuisine. She also interpreted and translated pro bono for displaced persons and refugees. She was consulted by National Laboratory Scientists for input on a language recognition program. She was an animal lover and songstress, and loved to garden. Before she left us, she and Bob prepared her Spring flower beds, and planted new seeds among her naturalized morning glories and sunflowers. Ever thoughtful, she gave Bob one last haircut. Bob, her husband, is her only surviving relative here in the U.S. However, in Thailand, the country of her birth, she is remembered, mourned and celebrated by a large family of sisters, nieces and nephews too numerous to list. She is both loved and missed.
