Cecilia G. Ortiz

Cecilia G. Ortiz was called home by our Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 3, 2025. Cecilia was born on October 10, 1938 to Gregorio and Maria Garcia. After finishing school, Cecilia met Jose A. Ortiz when he returned from the military and were married on January 19, 1954 and were married for 67 years. Together they raised 6 children, daughters; Jenny, Rafela and Maria, sons, Jerry, David and Martin.

Cecilia is predeceased by her husband, parents, daughters; Jenny and Rafela, daughter in law;

Louise, twin brother Carlos, sister Ramona Aragon, mother and father in-law Melquiades and Josefita Ortiz, brothers in law; Moises (Lala), Ernesto, Melquiades Jr., Pablo and Toby. Sisters in law; Esmenia (Frank) Cordova, Carmen Ornelas, Teresa (Victor) Hendren.

Cecilia is survived by; Jerry (Irene), David and Martin and daughter, Maria, sisters-in-law, Marie Garcia and Celina (Noberto) Roybal. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

During her life, Cecilia worked on various fields from House Keeping/Desk Clerk at Motel Six, kitchen aid at Lubby's Cafeteria and as a private house keeper for various people, babysitter and home maker.

Rosary service will be on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Rivera Funeral Home in Santa Fe at 11:30 with a Celebration of Life to follow. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
