In profound remembrance, we gather to honor the life of Cecilia Cisneros Chavez, a woman whose spirit shone brightly through her caring demeanor and deep love for her family. Born on November 22, 1957, in the charming town of Chihuahua, Mexico, Cecilia embarked on a journey that would ultimately take her to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she departed this world surrounded by family and friends on September 6, 2025.
Cecilia was a dedicated and beloved cook for Espanola Public School, a role that allowed her to nourish not only minds but also hearts. Her commitment to her vocation was evident; she loved her job, pouring love and care into every meal she prepared. However, her most cherished role was as a mother and grandmother. With a heart open wide, she was always there for everyone, embodying the epitome of maternal love and support.
She took immense joy in her relationships, nurturing the bonds with her husband, Jose Cisneros, and her daughters, Nancy and Jessica. The light of her life twinkled ever brighter through her grandchildren: Kevin, Jasmin, Isabella, Emilio, and Aliana, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Cecilia was more than just a nurturing figure; she was a cornerstone of her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jose, her daughters, Nancy and Jessica, and her cherished grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind her brothers Ramon and Luis Margrito Chavez, as well as her brothers Chevo Nacho and Lencho Chavez, and her treasured sisters Maria and Lupe Nestora. Their lives were enriched by her warmth and kindness.
She was met in the afterlife by her loving parents, Eustacio Chavez and Petronila Quintana, along with her brothers Manuel, Julio, and Rojelio, who welcomed her with open arms.
Cecilia’s life will be celebrated on September 12, 2025, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Española, NM. The day will commence with a Rosary at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM, and conclude with a burial ceremony at 12:00 PM, allowing all who knew and loved her to pay their final respects.
