In Loving Memory of Casey Scott Luster

Casey Scott Luster, lovingly known by many as Casey Mac, Case, Macster, Casey Babe, and even Lacey, passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 32. He was born on August 12, 1993, in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Casey is survived by his beloved wife, Alyssa Luster; his cherished daughter, Kyler Luster; his parents, Kris and Mary Luster; his siblings, Charlie (Shy), Kristopher (Shelyse), Becca (Matt), and Savana; and his nieces and nephew, Shelby, Aria, Hendrix, Anna, Ivy, and Ava. He also leaves behind countless extended family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Casey found his career in truck driving and construction working with his family, but trucks were far more than a job—they were one of his greatest passions. If it had wheels, flashing lights, loud horns, or a PA system, Casey probably loved it. He became well known for owning a collection of vehicles and toys, each one louder and brighter than the last. And despite somehow managing to wreck nearly every truck he owned—including three at the same time on one unforgettable occasion—he remained convinced, and everyone around him agreed, that he was actually a great driver.

His interests were as big as his personality. Casey loved country music, dancing whenever he had the chance, camping under the stars, cooking an incredible Beef Wellington, collecting knives, shooting, anything involving fire or lights, and he never passed up the chance to love on a puppy. His favorite color was red, and wherever Casey went, there was rarely a dull moment.

More than anything, Casey loved people.

He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like they belonged. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, Casey had a way of making you feel seen, welcomed, and important. He was the kind of person who would stop whatever he was doing to help someone in need, expecting nothing in return. His heart was enormous, and so were his hugs. He genuinely wanted everyone around him to feel cared for, included, and loved.

Those who knew Casey will forever remember the jingling of the oversized ring of keys he carried everywhere, his collection of knives, his unforgettable laugh, and the phrases that became uniquely his: “Living the dream, one nightmare at a time.” “Well… I’m here.” “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” “Not my monkey, not my circus.”

He was also famously known for somehow always getting lost—or getting left behind—creating stories that his family and friends will continue telling for years to come.

Casey lived boldly, loved fiercely, laughed often, and gave generously. His life was measured not by possessions or accomplishments, but by the countless lives he touched through his kindness, humor, loyalty, and willingness to help anyone who needed him.

While our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love Casey gave so freely lives on in every person he embraced, encouraged, and cared for. His memory will continue to shine as brightly as the flashing lights he loved so much.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

So here’s to Casey: may the horns be loud, the lights be flashing, the keys never be lost, and may we all keep living the dream… one nightmare at a time.
