Carol C. Chavez, born December 31, 1961, passed away on October 3, 2026. She will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, enduring strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Carol attended Mid High and Santa Fe High School. Throughout her life, she held tightly to the values that mattered most to her. She was baptized in the river by her church, and that faith remained at the center of the way she lived. She set a positive example for her family by always putting her faith first, and even through life’s tests, her strength never wavered as she worked to provide for her children.
Nothing meant more to Carol than her family. She was especially proud of her children, and one of her greatest accomplishments was keeping her family together. She loved keeping traditions alive, including passing down her secret recipes, and some of the most cherished memories of her life were made cooking for the holidays with her children and grandchildren. In those moments, she shared not only meals, but love, laughter, and a sense of belonging that will continue to live on in the family she treasured so deeply.
She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Dalton and her husband, Ramon, and Sabrina Sanchez and her husband, Rick; her son, Isaac Griego; and her beloved grandchildren, Liliana, Joseph, Maree, Ricky, and Nathaniel. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren will carry her memory with them always, and the love of their grandma will remain a lasting part of their hearts.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Everisto Chavez; her mother, Erlinda Chavez; and her brothers, Raymond Chavez and Manuel Chavez.
Carol’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example, comforted by her traditions, and forever grateful for the care she gave so freely. Her memory will continue to be felt around family tables, in treasured recipes, and in the togetherness she worked so hard to preserve.
