Carmen T. Archuleta, 66
Carmen Teresita Juanita Romero de Archuleta passed away April 13, 2015 at 11:11 p.m. in her home in Los Ojos, New Mexico.
A funeral service will be held at San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, NM on Friday, April 17, 2015. Burial will follow at the family residence. The Rivera Family Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.
Carmen was born in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico to Santiago and Reyescitas Romero on October 6, 1948. She graduated from Escalante High School. She worked as a visiting nurse health aide and was a waitress at several restaurants in the area. She was a lifetime member of the VFW. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Reyescitas Romero; two brothers Gilbert and Milton Romero; and sisters Higinia Martinez and Clory Rodella.
Carmen is survived by her husband Jose Belarmino Archuleta, her sisters, Erma Lopez, Connie Manzanarez, Helen (Benedict) Valdez, Lucinda (Danny) Valdez of Albuquerque, NM, Dolores ( Justiniano) Valdez of Tierra Amarilla, NM, and Elaine(Claire) Glantz of Freeport, Florida; son Milton (Rebecca) Archuleta; daughter Carmela (Jaime) Olivas; five grandchildren Ezra and Zoë Archuleta, Elijah, Leah and Eva Olivas; her beloved dog Lucy and cat Nalla.
Her pallbearers were Sonny Lopez, Danny Valdez, Orlando Perales, Benedict Valdez, Justiniano Valdez and Pedro Archuleta. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Martinez Sr., Tito Rodella Jr., Marlina Romero, Claire Glantz, Ezra and Zoë Archuleta, Jaime, Elijah, Leah and Eva Olivas, Joe, Baltazar Jr., Sienna and Isabella Madrid.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Christus St. Vincent Regional Cancer and Medical Center, The American Cancer Society and Ambercare Hospice Services for their support in her battle with cancer.
The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to all her family, friends and the community who gave support whether by offering prayers, visitations, well wishes, food or monetary donations. Words cannot express how comforting your generosity has been. Carmen loved everyone. The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
Funeral mass was held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos.
