Santa Fe

Carlos A. Ytuarte, a distinguished master server and cherished father, passed peacefully at home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on August 9, 2025. Born on September 14, 1974, in the same historical city, Carlos dedicated his life to the art of fine dining, where he earned a reputation for his exceptional professionalism. His career was a tapestry woven with a myriad of experiences, as he constructed an extensive clientele that spanned the globe, setting a benchmark in the culinary world.

In the face of his professional successes, Carlos remained steadfast in his devotion to family, holding a profound love for his children, Gabbi and Asher, who were undoubtedly the most precious gifts of his life. His heart was as large as his talents, and those who knew him could attest to his generosity—both in spirit and in action. Carlos touched many lives, not only through his culinary prowess but also through the warmth and kindness he extended to everyone who crossed his path.

His proudest accomplishments included receiving multiple accolades from Sonoma Wine Country, a testament to his commitment to excellence and innovative approach to international cuisine, which he showcased during his time in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and in his hometown Santa Fe, where he worked at SantaCafe, and Coyote Cafe. Carlos’s influence in the dining sphere will be remembered, and his legacy will continue to inspire both colleagues and clients alike.

He is survived by his beloved children, Gabbi and Asher; his mother, Debbie Jaramillo; his father, David Ytuarte (Kathy); his brothers, Michael Ytuarte, Angelo Jaramillo, and Eric Ytuarte (Claudia); his sister, Marissa Wallace (Mike); and his cherished niece, Lilly Ytuarte, along with his nephew, Mateo Ytuarte, and his grandmother, Pauline Chavez. Carlos also leaves behind numerous family members and friends whose lives he enriched with his spirit.

He was predeceased by his stepfather, Mike Jaramillo, and his grandparents, Ricardo and Angela Pino, as well as his great-grandmother, Fedelina Barela.

Carlos A. Ytuarte’s remarkable journey through life came to an end, but his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, excellence, and fatherly devotion will endure, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
