Listen to Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we honor the life of Blossom Melanie Romero, born on November 3, 1976, and who departed from this world on October 20, 2025. Blossom was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, nah-nah, auntie, and friend, whose presence enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.

Blossom embraced her heritage with deep pride, living as a devoted member of the Taos Pueblo community. She never underestimated the importance of right and wrong, guiding her family and friends with her strong moral compass. Throughout her life, and especially in her final moments, Blossom demonstrated extraordinary strength, resilience, and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone around her. Even during difficult times, her smile lit up the room, remaining as radiant as the day she was born. She was truly a warrior in every sense of the word.

Blossom is survived by her beloved parents Andrew and Annabelle Romero. She leaves behind her dear brother, Aaron Romero, who together with the rest of the family will always keep her memory alive. As a devoted mother, Blossom is survived by her son, Mahtao Chisholm (Terri Trujillo), and her daughters, Candice Lujan (Owen Romero), Jasmine Lujan (Damian Lefthand), and her loving significant other Shulden Lujan. Her legacy continues through her precious granddaughter, Jhene Asia Paige Romero, and grandson, Darius Romero. Blossom's family was further enriched by many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will carry her spirit in their hearts.

The loss is also felt deeply for those who have passed on, including her recently departed angel in heaven, baby Chisholm, her Uncle Albert Archuleta, and her dear godbrother, Robbie Winters. Their shared memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those left behind.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Taos Pueblo community, the TP government office, the TP War Chief office, TPHCS, TP Fiscales, Guadalupanas, Indian Baptist Church, employer, Jane Compton Optometry, and all friends and family—both near and far—who provided support through donations and prayers throughout Blossom’s courageous fight. We are truly blessed for the unity and love of Taos Pueblo and the Town of Taos in our time of sorrow.

May Blossom Melanie Romero rest in eternal peace, knowing her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched with her love and warmth.
