Bernadette K Gonzales

Bernadette K. Gonzales of Santa Fe, NM (March 26, 1954 – March 29, 2026) 

With a heavy heart we inform you of our mother Bernadette K. Gonzales passing. She was 72. 

Bernadette was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM was brought up with New Mexican culture and traditions. Cooking, cleaning, listening to Spanish music. Supporting family and visiting on weekends.

 She married young and had two children, Ezequiel and Eva. Bernadette worked in the private sector for most of her life. In midlife she remarried and had another son, Estevan. Her children were always priority in her life. She loved with compassion and uniquely to each of them. 

Bernadette had many hobbies she loved to cook and bake. Her homemade tortillas, bread and chocolate cake were always on request by her family. She had a green thumb, always planting and gardening often starting new plants and gifting them to family. Playing disco music was her favorite and you would find her dancing around the house. She enjoyed crocheting and teaching it to her friends.

 She loved being a grandma. Her four grandchildren brought her immense joy and happiness. She always went above and beyond for her grandchildren. From taking care of them when they were little, participating in their events, and always loving deeply for each of them.

 Our mother is now on her new journey. We will see you again, Mom! 

Bernadette is preceded in death by husband Steve Gonzales. She is survived by son, Ezequiel Olguin and wife Cindy Olguin, daughter, Eva Olguin, son, Estevan Gonzales Jr., granddaughter, Alyssa Nevarez Olguin and wife Sara Nevarez Olguin, grandson Iseah Olguin, granddaughter’s Shanice Olguin and Julianna Martinez. 

Services are as follows: 

Funeral service on April 24th, 2026 @ 10:00 at First Baptist Church on 1605 Old Pecos Trail, internment at 12:30 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
