Arturo (Arthur) Romero

Arturo (Arthur) Romero passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 at his home in Santa Fe surrounded by his family. Born April 28, 1933 in El Rancho, New Mexico, Arturo a long-time resident of Santa Fe graduated from Pojoaque High school. Upon graduation he was drafted into the Army and sent to Korea, where he served in a Signal Company. Upon discharge he returned to Santa Fe where he met his wife Margarita (Margie) Martinez.

Arturo worked for the Department of correction in Santa Fe for twenty-eight years. After retiring he worked part time at K-Mart. Once his wife retired, they traveled the world together, enjoying life. Arturo is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years Margarita Romero, his parents Ramon and Anita Romero, In-Laws Pedro and Tillie Martinez, his brothers Ismael Romero (Lucy), Preciliano Romero (Charlotte), Louie Romero (Rose), brother in-law Pete Martinez. He is survived by his children Kathy Cross, Michael Romero (Merida), Richard Romero (Patricia), Tom Romero (Denise) Veronica Lucero (Oscar), Larry Romero (Nancy), Elizabeth Gonzalez (John) Sister-in-law Carmen Archuleta, Brother-in-law Antonio Martinez (Dolores), Fifteen grand children, Eighteen great grandchildren and two great great-grand children.
