Arthur "Tootsie" Montoya, 66, born on Valentine's Day, a lifelong resident of La Puebla passed away peacefully on Friday March 4, 2016. Arthur retired from New Mexico Department of Transportation after 27 years as a Highway Designer. Arthur loved to joke, was loved by his many friends and treasured by his family and will be deeply missed by all of them. Arthur is preceded in death by his father Eustaquio Montoya, his Grandparents Luis and Victoria Avila, Felicita Montoya, Matias and Estefanita Montoya, uncles Luis Avila Jr., Ramon Esquibel, Camilo Trujillo, Casimiro, Daniel and Pete Montoya, aunts Josephina Maestas and Andrita Flores. Father and Mother-in-law Amarante and Beroniz Vigil, brother-in-law Andres "Bobby" Vigil, Godson Frank Martinez Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Cecilia, son Arthur Montoya Jr. and wife Melissa of Rio Rancho; daughter Kristy Montoya, mother Flossie Montoya, brother Anthony Montoya and son Anthony Martinez all of La Puebla, aunts Edwina Esquibel, Edith Trujillo and uncle Paul Medina and wife Mary. Brothers-in-law Chris Vigil and wife Carla, Roger Vigil and wife Kathy, Felix Vigil and wife Stella, Jesse Vigil and wife Gloria and sisters-in-law Molly and husband Gary Herrera, and Minnie Vigil, and numerous nephews and nieces. Godchildren Andrew Martinez and Amanda Vigil and his beloved dogs Pork and Beans and many other relatives and friends. Public Visitation was held on March 09, 2016 with funeral mass followed at the Holy Family Church in Chimayo. Interment followed at La Puebla Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Felix Vigil, Roger Vigil, Jesse Vigil, Ted Lopez, David Quintana and Ralph Martinez .
