Arthur Marquez

Arthur (Art) Michael Marquez age 48 was called to the Lord on March 3, 2016. He was born in Santa Fe, NM to Delia Marquez-Mendoza and Florencio (Lefty) Mike Marquez. Arthur is preceded in death by his father Florencio (Lefty) Mike Marquez, grandparents Jose and Leocadia Ortiz and Juan and Ponciana Marquez, stepfather Mark Mendoza, stepfather Paul Tapia, sister Jolene Pena, aunts Erlinda Sanchez, Virgina Ortiz and Mabel Tavasci. He is survived by his fiancé Sandra Martinez, mother of his children Joanne Pena, mother Delia Marquez-Mendoza, daughter Brandie Rose Marquez (Jon), son Arthur Michael Marquez Jr., grandson Damian Marquez, brothers Leo Marquez (Nadine) and Frank Marquez (Beth), sister Irene Mueller (Anthony), nephews: Mike, Alex, Anthony, Maximus and Samson, niece Emily and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Arthur attended Vo-Tech in Santa Fe, was a talented carpenter who loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team the San Francisco 49ers and spending time with his children, grandson and fiancé. He lovingly cared for his “Momma Bear” daily. He will be remembered for his beautiful green eyes that he received from his dad, for his love of storytelling and his sense of humor. Pallbearers: Frank Marquez, Arthur Marquez Jr., Mike Marquez, Alex Marquez, Anthony Mueller and Jon Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers: Damian Marquez, Leo Marquez, Daniel Lucio and Eric Pena. A viewing will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Cristo Rey Church at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Church.
