Arthur Michael Gonzales

Born January 28, 1958 - July 10, 2026 born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the brave passing of Art, due to his courageous battle with brain cancer. A devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather (papa). A skilled custom home builder and cherished friend.

Art dedicated his life to building more than beautiful custom homes with a legacy of hardwork, integrity and craftsmanship.

When he wasn’t working Art found peace and happiness in the outdoors. An avid fly fisherman and talented fly tier, he treasured time spent on the river, camping with his family and friends enjoying life to the fullest.

Above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandson Kanyon creating memories that will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife Penny Yardman-Gonzales, only daughter Christina Yardman-Gonzales and his treasured grandson Kanyon Kossman, who were the center of his world.

He also leaves behind his loving sisters Lucy Martinez, Flora Valdez and brother Bernard Gonzales along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Nick and Helen Gonzales, his two brothers Jerome (Jerry), Robert (Bobby) Gonzales and sisters Maria (Fernie) Salazar and Priscilla Quintana. Along with his father in law Frank Yardman.

Art will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle heart, infectious laughter and the love he shared freely.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Services are as follows:  Tuesday July 28th at San Isidro Center:  Rosary 9:30    Mass 10:30
