February 20, 1950 – March 22, 2026
Armando A. Armijo, age 76, of Española, New Mexico, passed away peacefully. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and spent his life rooted in the traditions, family, and culture of Northern New Mexico.
Armando proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated many years of service to the State of New Mexico, from which he retired. He carried a strong work ethic throughout his life and took great pride in both his military and public service.
Armando was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Elizabeth Armijo; his daughter, Roberta P. Armijo; and his son, Aaron Scheuermann. He was a proud grandfather to Corine Martinez and Cassandra Corlett, as well as Shontelle, Aaron Jr., Ariana, and D’Sean Scheuermann. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Marcos, Elias, and EvaMarie Martinez.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Rebecca, Maria, and Carmen; his nephews, Mario, Luis, Max, Miguel, and Ramon; his nieces, Andrea and Alicia; and his godson, Elias Baca of Española.
Armando was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilio and Aurora Armijo, and his sisters, Percila, Cecilia, and Gloria.
He will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his country and community, and his deep love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
